The Ashland Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Committee was established by warrant article vote in 2012. The principal duty of the Committee, according to NH RSA 674.5 through 674.8, is to prepare and amend a recommended program of municipal capital improvement projects, projected over a period of at least 6 years. The sole purpose and effect of the capital improvements program is to aid the select board and budget committee in their consideration of the annual budget. The committee shall classify projects according to urgency and need and recommend a time sequence for completion. Information will include estimated cost for each project, probable operating costs and maintenance, probable revenues generated, as well as funding sources. The program will be based on information submitted by departments and agencies of the municipality to generally include town, school and utilities.
CIP COMMITTEE MEMBERS
The Capital Improvement Program Committee consists of at least five appointed members and includes at least one member of the planning board and may include, but not be limited to, other members of the planning board, the budget committee, and the town governing body.
