DHHS Advises Consumers Not to Eat Improperly Pasteurized Cheese Curds from Huckins Farm
Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is advising consumers not to eat Huckins Farm Cheese Curds labeled with a “sell by” date of August 9, 2025. Huckins Farm is voluntarily recalling the cheese curds out of an abundance of caution because they were improperly pasteurized.
The affected cheese curds were sold in half-pound packages at the Huckins Farm Store in New Hampton, New Hampshire and at the following retail locations:
- Osborne’s Farm and Garden Center, Concord
- Concord Food Co-op, Concord
- Osborne’s Farm and Garden Center, Hooksett
- Gilmanton’s Own Market, Gilmanton
- Dumont Farms, Loudon
- Harman’s Cheese & Country Store, Sugar Hill
- Taproot Marketplace, Lancaster
- Forsyth Family Farm, Gilford
- Picnic Rock Farms, Meredith
- Moulton Farm, Meredith
- Cardigan Country Store, Bristol
Consumers who purchased these cheese curds should not eat them and instead throw them away. Huckins Farm has notified and instructed retailers to discard the recalled cheese curds.
Pasteurization is a heating process that kills harmful germs. While there have been no reported illnesses associated with the recalled products, consuming cheese and other dairy products that are not fully pasteurized can pose a significant health risk, especially to young children, older adults, pregnant women, and people with weakened immune systems.
Anyone with questions about this recall may contact Huckins Farm at 603-630-8720. Anyone with concerns about illnesses related to this recall can call DHHS at 603-271-4496.
